Remote_desktop_connection_iconBy default the Windows XP operating system cannot handle Multiple user access to the same PC.

But the possibility to have a multi user accessible same computer is exist.

For what is usual this hack: by example for access your PC at home, while your another navigate with this; make some configuration remotely for others etc, make some remote installation or lot of another things.

So what i need for this

  1. Need to download the following DLL: termsrv.dll
  2. Stop the Terminal Service in the Windows Services : Run-> cmd
    sc config TermService start=disable

  3. Go to: C:\windows\system32\dllcache and make a backup for termsrv.dll and OVERWRITE
  4. Go to: C:\windows\system32\ and make a backup for termsrv.dll and OVERWRITE
  5. Start the regedit program (Run->regedit.exe)
  6. Go to following node  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\Licensing Core
  7. Create a new DWORD registry (“New” > DWORD) with key value “EnableConcurrentSessions”
  8. Start the Terminal Service in the Windows Services : Run-> cmd

    sc config TermService start=disable
  9. Restart the PC.
  10. Enable the Remote Desktop Connections
  11. If don’t want to have  unlimited connections to your PC can limit this with some configuration in Group Policy.
    – Run type gpedit.msc
    – Go to node: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Terminal Services
    – Double click “Limit number of connections”, choose “Enabled” and set the maximum number of concurrent connections want to allow (by example 3.)
  12. Restart again the PC.
