windows7

Yesterday i have received a laptop from my fried to install a Windows 7 professional. It’s a clear task, but, because the licences version of Windows 7 Professional is English and my friend would to have in Hungarian become very interesting the task.

By default the Windows 7 professional don’t contains the MUI support from Regional Settings but, with some tricks you can make the OS to talk with you in your preferred language

How to solve the Problem in some minutes

1. Download the MUI for your Language. Example i would the HUNGARIAN language i need the hu-HU package.
2. For download do you have a 2 possibilities:

  • a. http://msdn.microsoft.com for MSDN Subsribers
  • b. I suggested this page : (http://www.solidblogger.com/windows-7-language-pack-download-install-tutorial/)

Note: I download the hu-hu package on C:\lp.cab
3. After Download do you need the following to type in the CMD (Run As Administrator):

DISM /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\lp.cab bcdedit /set {current} locale hu-HU bcdboot %WinDir% /l hu-HU

4. Remove from the Registry the en-EN language settings (CMD->regedit.exe)

5. Click on the en-EN label and this registry child.

6. REBOOT the OS.
7. Injoy the hungarian Windows 7 Professional.
